Railway Recruitment Selection Process:

Preliminary Examination: Depending on the exam. Computer-Based Test (CBT): The eligible candidates must appear for a Computer-Based Test, an online examination consisting of multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

 

The syllabus usually covers subjects such as:

  • Mathematics

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning

  • General Science

  • General Awareness and Subject Matters.

 

Main Examination: For some exams, shortlist candidates for the main exam. a primary examination goes into more depth on the subjects related to the job role.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Some Recruitment Conduct Physical Tests. Aspirants who qualify for the CBT are called for the PET. In the PET, candidates must perform specific physical tasks like lifting and carrying weights, running, etc. The PET is qualifying, and candidates must meet the required physical standards to move to the next stage.

Skill Test/Typing Test: Specific posts require candidates to undergo skill tests like typing or stenography to evaluate particular abilities.
