Selection Process
The process of selecting educators is crucial as it directly impacts the quality of education imparted to students. Army Public Schools have a unique and well-structured approach to ensure they have the best teachers to nurture young minds.
Online Screening Test (OST)
The first step in the selection process is the Online Screening Test, abbreviated as OST. It is a computer-based test scheduled for 30th September 2023 and 1st October 2023. Conducted centrally and online by an agency identified by HQ AWES, this test aims to ensure the consistent quality of teachers in all Army Public Schools

OST Score Card
Those who appear in the OST will receive a scorecard with lifelong validity. This scorecard is an essential credential for further stages of the selection process. However, it is important to note that passing the Online Screening Test is no longer mandatory for appearing in the interview and evaluation of teaching skills & computer proficiency.
Passing Criteria for OST
Candidates who secure a teaching position (regular & fixed term) must pass the OST within specific timelines, as mentioned below:
Regular Candidate
Regular candidates are required to pass the OST within two years of being appointed, with a minimum overall raw score of 50% (100 marks).
Fixed-Term Candidate
Fixed-term candidates must pass the OST within one year of being appointed, with a minimum overall raw score of 40% (80 marks).
Exemption for Qualified Candidates
Candidates who have already qualified in the OST are exempted from appearing in the test again, except those applying for a Fixed Term position. In such cases, the 40% pass mark condition will apply.
Eligibility for Online Screening Test
Apart from fresh candidates, Army Public Schools allow the following individuals to appear for the Online Screening Test:
Score Card Holders for Improvement
Holders of scorecards who wish to improve their scores can also take the OST. This allows them to enhance their teaching credentials and explore better opportunities.
Upgradation Aspirants
Educators holding scorecards for lower teaching positions, like TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher), may aspire to obtain a card for PGT (Post Graduate Teacher) by acquiring additional qualifications. The OST allows them to showcase their expertise and seek career advancements.
